Privacy Policy
Effective May 29, 2026 · Last updated May 29, 2026
This policy explains what Bald Dude Apps, LLC (“Bald Dude Apps,” “we,” “us”) collects and how we handle it across our apps Rendered and WildNest and the website at balddudeapps.com.
The short version
We don’t sell your data. We don’t run ads. We collect what we need to make the apps work, sync them across your devices, and fix problems — and you can delete it. The detail below is the binding version.
1.Who this covers
Rendered and WildNest share a single sign-in, so one account works in both apps. This policy applies to both. Where a practice applies to only one app, we say so.
2.Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account we collect your email address and a password (stored and verified by our authentication provider, Amazon Cognito — we never see your password in plain text). You may add a display name. In WildNest we also collect a household role (for example, the “Nest Keeper” / admin) and, for each member, an optional birthdate, which is used to suggest an age tier.
Content you create
- In Rendered: your recipes, cook plans, cook logs, ratings, notes, recipe versions, and any cook photos you add.
- In WildNest: your lists (grocery, to-do, trip, errand), chores and points, calendar events you create, messages you send, garden progress, and avatars. If you choose to share your location in a message, that location is included with that message.
Household and family information (WildNest)
Because WildNest is built for households, an account admin can add other members — including children — and information about them, such as a name, an optional birthdate, and assigned tasks. See Children’s privacy below.
Connected services you authorize (WildNest)
If you connect a calendar (Google, Apple/iCloud, or Microsoft Outlook), we receive the access tokens needed to read and write the events you ask us to sync. You can disconnect at any time, which revokes our access going forward.
AI processing (Rendered)
When you use paste-and-parse, the AI Recipe Builder, or the Cook Coach, the relevant text (such as the recipe you paste or the recipe and cook context for a Coach question) is sent to our AI provider to generate a response. We do not send this content to the AI provider except when you actively use one of these features.
Device, usage, and diagnostic information
To keep the apps reliable, we collect device and app information (device model, operating system, app version), crash and error logs, and product-analytics events about how features are used. This includes session replay via LaunchDarkly, which records app interactions to help us diagnose problems and improve the experience. We apply masking rules intended to reduce the capture of sensitive content, but you should treat session-replay capture as covering your general interactions with the app.
Payment information
Paid subscriptions are processed by Apple’s App Store and Google Play. We receive confirmation of your subscription status and tier, but not your full payment-card details.
3.How we use information
- To provide the apps’ core features — planning and logging cooks, computing cook timelines, managing lists, chores, schedules, and messages.
- To sync your data across your devices and keep your account working in both apps.
- To send notifications you’ve enabled (for example, cook reminders and step alerts) via Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging.
- To generate AI results when you use Rendered’s AI features.
- To diagnose bugs, measure feature usage, maintain security, and improve the apps.
- To provide support when you contact us, and to meet legal obligations.
4.How Rendered and WildNest share data with each other
The two apps are designed to work together. When you plan a meal in WildNest, the recipe’s details can flow to Rendered to create a planned cook with a computed start time, and the ingredients and cook time can flow back into WildNest’s grocery list and schedule. Both apps are operated by Bald Dude Apps under the same account, so this is sharing within our own service, not with an outside party.
5.Service providers we share with
We share data with the vendors that run the apps’ infrastructure, only as needed to provide the service:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Amazon Web Services (AWS) | Hosting, authentication (Cognito), database (DynamoDB), and file storage (S3) in the United States. |
| LaunchDarkly | Feature management, product analytics, error monitoring, and session replay. |
| Anthropic | AI processing for Rendered’s paste-and-parse, Recipe Builder, and Cook Coach features. |
| Apple & Google | App distribution, subscription billing, and push notifications. |
| Calendar providers you connect | Google, Apple, and/or Microsoft, for the two-way calendar sync you enable (WildNest). |
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We may disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
6.Children’s privacy
WildNest is used by families, including children
WildNest is intended to be set up and managed by a parent or guardian, who chooses what to add about each household member. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children for our own commercial purposes, and we do not show advertising to anyone.
If you are a parent or guardian, you are responsible for the information you add about your children and for supervising their use of the app. You can review, edit, or delete a member’s information at any time, and can delete the account entirely (see Data & account deletion).
7.How long we keep data, and deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the apps. You can delete your content or your account at any time; see the Data & account deletion page for how, what is removed, and timing. Some records may be retained for a limited period in backups or where the law requires.
8.Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Residents of California (under the CCPA/CPRA) and the EEA/UK (under the GDPR) have specific rights, including — for California — the right to know and delete, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. To make a request, email support@balddudeapps.com.
9.Security
We use measures intended to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls on our AWS infrastructure, and encryption of stored data where available. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
10.International users
We operate from the United States and store data on AWS infrastructure located in the United States. If you use the apps from outside the US, you understand your information will be processed in the US.
11.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice in the apps.
